Storytelling lasts forever.

Videography

MICROPHONE STAND
We strongly suggest you ask your DJ or venue for a microphone stand for toasts and speeches. We'll position the stand in the best place for flattering angles of your loved ones while they give their toasts. Most DJs won't bring a stand unless you ask them ahead of time.

WIRELESS MICROPHONES
We use small wireless microphones to record audio during your ceremony and toasts. They're discreet. Our microphones are completely separate from the audio system provided by your DJ or venue. We don't need anything from them. Our wireless microphones are digital, so they will not interfere in any way. We'll attach the small microphone to the groom's jacket or officiant's clothing.

DRONE FOOTAGE
Drone footage is offered free of charge in all packages. It's intended to be scenic and landscape footage of the venue and surrounding area, not of a specific activity, decoration or person. For safety reasons, and to comply with federal law, the videographer does not fly the drone over, or near, people. We love aerial footage, although it's not always possible to fly the drone. Your contract explains some of the reasons why. In some cases, we'll use drone footage captured on a separate day from your wedding. To maximize the chances that we can fly the drone on your wedding day, please be sure to allocate 45 minutes of uninterrupted time in your schedule for the videographer to operate the drone.

CHANGES TO THE VIDEO
We want you to love your video forever! We spend an enormous amount of time crafting a video that represents you as a couple, and captures the special moments from your wedding day. You are certainly welcome to request changes. Almost all couples don't want a single thing changed because they love their films exactly as created. Please understand this editing time is not included in the package price. Even small changes can take hours and hours of additional work. There is a small hourly charge for changes. We are happy to give you an estimate.

CEREMONY VIDEO
Your videographer's primary duty is capturing wonderful footage for a highlight video. This means we'll move around and change locations during a ceremony. This is especially true during the processional when everyone walks down the aisle. The videographer is often trying to stay out of your photographer's way, while also avoiding blocking your guests from enjoying this special moment. We'll always do our best to capture the full moments of the wedding party and couple walking down the aisle. Please remember the videographer often has to move slightly or reposition the camera, since it's usually a crowded space at the front of the ceremony, where everyone is standing and trying to see the bride. You might notice some blurry moments, shaky footage or the camera focusing and re-focusing during the ceremony. This is normal, as your videographer is trying to get a variety of shots for a highlight video. Your videographer is also trying to avoid blocking your photographer's view.

VIDEO COLORS
You can choose your color style, either our Rustic and Classic film style. Please note your video colors may not match your photo colors exactly.

Changes and Revisions

The vast majority of our clients absolutely love their videos and don't want anything changed! We understand some couples might want a few items tweaked. Please remember revisions are not included in the original package price. Revisions involve substantial time and effort. Your contract lists the hourly rate for revisions.

You can cut down on the hourly costs by sending a very clear and easy-to-follow list of revision requests. Please include the exact timestamp of every single item, in chronological order, so our editing team knows exactly what you're referring to. A clear and straight-forward list like this can save 1 or 2 hours of the editor's time. The cost for revisions also includes the time it takes downloading footage again, searching for certain elements, re-arranging the finished video files, and re-exporting and re-uploading the new versions. Please understand this also means our editor must stop work on other weddings, causing extra delays for those clients to receive their videos.

We offer an optional add-on that you can order in advance of editing. This provides for 2 specific revisions and 2 years of back-up for your footage. This must be purchased in advance of your wedding. Below you can find examples of a "specific revision," and what this includes. A "specific revision" is defined as a precise shot that should be removed or added. A "specific revision" does NOT include a major change to the video that requires significant and multiple revisions throughout the video, such as changing an entire song. This process would involve multiple revisions in order to match footage and timing to the new song.

Please remember our editing team does not know your family members or wedding party by name. You can help the editor complete your requests faster by providing very specific examples and instructions.

Here is a sample list of revision requests. These are examples of "specific revisions."

#1
(0:42) Delete - clip of bride putting on necklace

#2
(1:46) Add more footage of dogs, similar to this clip

#3
(2:18) Replace this clip of cake-cutting with another clip, bouquet toss, (2:43), instead.

The revision process is very intensive. It's a lot harder to change small things than many non-professionals realize!

Here's what it takes to complete revisions:
  • Re-download the footage folders again to the local computer from the server, which takes 2-5 hours. An editor's individual computer simply doesn't have enough storage space to keep multiple footage folders at once. Some weddings take up 400GB to 1TB of high-quality raw video footage! (We don't charge you for downloading time.)
  • Review footage and search for certain elements based on client's requests.
  • Make changes to the master video file. If we remove 10 seconds worth of footage, we need to find another 10 seconds to add, in the same place. It's sort of like a puzzle. When we remove or add something, those seconds of video need to be accounted for in the rest of the video. Your total video length must stay the same. It's dictated by the songs.
  • Finalize and export the finished video again, which can take 1-2 hours. (We don't charge you for computer exporting time.) During this process, our editor cannot work on anything else on their computer.
  • Re-upload the finished video to the cloud, which can take 1-2 hours. (We don't charge you for uploading time.)
