It's one of the most common questions:
Have you worked at our venue before? The answer is actually pretty simple: It doesn't matter! We're extremely experienced with all types of weddings at all kinds of venues.
Weddings are our speciality. We've worked at thousands of venues, with all different kinds of challenges. We know how to handle our equipment based on all the unique circumstances of different venues.
We have significant experience in the following types of venues:
- Indoor venues
- Outdoor venues
- Bright sun
- Low-light rooms
- Churches and cathedrals
- Farms, barns and rustic settings
- Boats and cruises
- Ballrooms
- and lots, lots more!!
The same venue can be very different from wedding to wedding. That's why it's much more important to have a professional wedding photographer with a depth of experience and skills. We can handle just about anything!
Even if we've worked at your venue before, it's really important to approach each wedding with a fresh set of eyes. You don't want a photographer who uses a cookie-cutter approach. You want a photographer who is creative, inspired and energized! Professional photographers know they need to make decisions based on the way the venue looks NOW -- not the last time they were there.
Photography is all about light. If the light from the environment changes, so will the photography. For example, the photography will be different if it's cloudy, sunny, partly cloudy or partly sunny. Photography will also be different based on the time of day and the season. You can stand in the same field and the light will be very different at 11 in the morning versus 4 in the afternoon. As a result, the photographer will need to understand his or her equipment to make the necessary adjustments.
Your photographer is skilled at finding great locations for portraits based on the way the venue looks now. If it's really important to you for the photographer to arrive with a specific plan in mind, you might want to invest in extra hour(s) or an advance visit. These would be charged at the hourly rate.
You're in good hands.
