Planning Session

We're thrilled to include a free 30-minute planning session for all packages! You'll get to meet with our expert wedding planners to discuss best practices for photography and videography! We've captured thousands of weddings, so we have some great advice and ideas that we'd love to share with you.

The goal of your planning session is to provide you with advice and ideas. We'd love to review your timeline together and answer your questions about wedding photography and videography. Couples tell us they love getting advice and guidance about their timelines. Please remember that your planning session is not designed to be a way to give instructions to your photographer or videographer. It's really important that all your logistical information stay in one (1) single place: in your Questionnaire in your Client Portal. To avoid confusion or misunderstandings, please remember the Sound Originals team does not update your Questionnaire. Please be sure to add any written ideas in your Questionnaire yourself. Your Questionnaire is also the only place to update your Arrival Time or Arrival Address.

It's Easy to Schedule!

You can schedule your planning session very easily. Planning sessions are virtual through Google Meet. Just click the Planning Session menu button in your Client Portal! Once there, you'll see two choices. 

Option A. Schedule your planning session with your Planning Specialist. It's usually much faster to schedule a session with your Planning Specialist because we work typical business hours.

Option B. Schedule your planning session with your Planning Specialist and your Lead Photographer. You'll see detailed instructions for how to provide a list of dates. Please remember our photography team is constantly working on paid projects, weddings, engagement shoots and other out-of-town events and productions. That's why it is sometimes more complicated to find mutual dates and times. Your contract explains that your photographer and/or videographer may not be available for a planning session. We're sorry if this happens, and we'd still love you to schedule a session with your Planning Specialist!

The best time to hold your planning session is approximately 1 month in advance of your wedding. We suggest scheduling your session, or providing dates, as soon as possible. When clients wait until a couple weeks before the wedding to schedule a session, it's often too late because our calendar is already fully booked. Our planning team holds multiple calls per day so we're very packed with meetings!
