Photo Selection & Editing
Our team uses a photojournalistic approach to wedding photography. This means we're capturing moments naturally and discreetly, aiming for flattering candids of your friends and family. During portraits, we'll provide gentle guidance and direction to help you pose naturally.
Selecting photos can be subjective. We'd rather send you more photos rather than less, even if a handful of them aren't "perfect."
Wouldn't you rather make the decision to delete a certain photo because it was slightly crooked, or your smile wasn't "perfect," rather than never know it even existed?
All the photos we deliver will be edited with our color-correction style based on your choice of the Classic or Rustic Collection colors. Like most wedding photographers, our editing service does not include advanced or specialty techniques, such as retouching. This means the photos won't include skin retouching, blemish removal, clothing adjustments, teeth whitening, object removal, addition of sun rays, sky replacements, or other sophisticated editing.
Our goal is to edit and deliver all of your photos. The only exceptions would be blurry images, blinks, test shots or other similar types of pictures. In other words, we try to give you ALL of the images that you'd actually want.
During the editing process, we carefully review every single image from the photographer. We try our best to edit all of the "good" pictures.
Clients sometimes contact us about "missing" photos. They're usually group photos from the family photo list. In our experience, we usually discover after researching that the photo was never actually captured! Weddings can be a blur. Clients sometimes "mis-remember" photos, or think a family member was present during the family photo session, when they actually were not there. It happens all the time. That's why we require you to designate a Family Photo List Organizer -- a trusted family member or guest who will be in charge of the list.
If you'd like to review the unedited images, please let us know. We will provide a release form and access to the folder of unedited images. If you discover unedited images that you'd like edited, we're happy to edit them free of charge. We are never trying to keep photos from you! Please provide the exact filenames.
