FAMILY PORTRAITS & GROUP PHOTOS
Most couples set aside time for organized pictures of family members and loved ones. We want to make sure you get all the photos you want! One of the most common questions after a wedding is, "Where is the group photo of me and Aunt Sally?" In almost all cases, after we do some research, we discover this photo was not actually taken because the family member(s) were not present during the photo session, or some other factor happened during the photo session process.
Please make a list of every person in every group photo. Without a detailed list, your session will get disorganized. Use first names so we can call out that person's name.
Each group will take about 3 minutes. Most couples tell us they wish they had prepared a SHORTER list. Of course, many groups will be much faster. In our experience, it averages to 3 minutes per group because we're trying to locate certain people.
You must designate someone to be in charge of your Family Photo List, such as one of your wedding party members, a family member or a trusted guest. In your questionnaire, this person is called the "Family Photo List Organizer."
Your Family Photo List Organizer will keep track if a group was skipped because someone was not present, or for some other reason. Your photographer will be focused on taking great pictures. He or she will not be gathering your family members or trying to locate them later in the day. Please remember it is the client's responsibility to make sure everyone is present. If family members are missing, we'll simply skip that group and move on to the next group on your list. If you want the skipped groups to be taken later in the day, your Family Photo List Organizer must be in charge of that process.
Your Family Photo List is for YOU. It will help you stay organized. Your photographer will ONLY focus on technical camera settings. Your photographer will NOT manage your list.
